Leadership & Service

Having been raised in Suisun City, my love for our community runs deep. I am committed to working on the issues that concern our residents and using my experience to bring forth innovative ideas and long-term solutions. With your support, we will  continue to move Suisun City forward.

As Mayor, my job and focus is to help improve quality of life, public safety, community engagement, and local economic development.

Elected as the Mayor of Suisun City in 2022, I have led the city through COVID-19 economic recovery efforts, the successful passing of Measure S--a tax measure that saved the city from dissolution by almost a 73% voter approval, and through the successful transition of a new city manager and city attorney to lead citywide operational efforts. I championed a new Master Economic Development Strategic Plan that is bringing 17 new infill development projects, which is more development than has been seen in the last decade combined. I have supported city initiatives that have garnered millions of dollars in grant funds for infrastructure projects, advanced grant initiatives that led to our Master Park Management Plan to invest in all our city parks, and supported children well-being programs such as the Suisun City Fit grant awarded by the U.S. Conference of Mayors. I also became the first mayor in over 50 years to explore opportunities to expand the city's boundaries.

In addition, in 2024, I was selected as one of eight mayors nationwide for the Mayor's Institute on City Design Fellowship as part of the 2025 Cohort, in partnership with the Harvard Graduate School of Design. The fellowship focused on best practices in community development, I concentrated on Suisun City's 34-Acre Site—the city's largest remaining infill development opportunity. This work helped guide the legal pathway for the site's full development, with a Request for Proposals (RFP) scheduled to be released in 2026.

In 2023, I was one of 16 elected officials from across California selected for the Water Education for Latino Leaders (WeLL) Program, a water policy fellowship that included visits to water and wastewater treatment facilities throughout the state and provided an in-depth understanding of California's complex water policies. This experience has informed my advocacy before the State Water Resources Control Board throughout 2025 and 2026 on behalf of Suisun City and Solano County regarding the Bay-Delta Plan, which could jeopardize the long-term reliability of the Solano Water Project (Lake Berryessa).

My day-to-day work in service of our community is also informed by the various boards that I am a member of.
